What Would You Say about This B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight?

We started the week with a nice surprise. The first show has been announced for the upcoming Tuscaloosa Amphitheater concert season. Believe it or not, the show announced is not country. Rather a rock band notoriously known for being one of the best to see live. We spotlight them this week.

The Dave Matthews Band announced their 2015 summer tour schedule, and just look at that, Tuscaloosa is on there. Yep, June 3rd. Hit the link below for more info on stuff like tickets.

The B101.7 Facebook page exploded with reaction to the news, so you share my excitement for this show! So, there is no doubt in my mind DMB needs to be in the spotlight for this B101.7 Flashback Friday driven by Townsend Honda.

First, let me point out how popular these guys are live, they have released 56 live albums. That's compared to only 8 studio albums dating back to the mid 90s. One of those being the breakout release 'Under the Table and Dreaming'. The spotlight is on their first hit single, 'What Would You Say.' It was released in late November 1994, but it was the following summer in 1995 before the song peaked in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 40 chart.

When you search for the song on YouTube, what a shocker a ton of live clips. It would make sense to feature one as a taste of what to expect in Tuscaloosa this summer. Have you seen the original video? It features straight up live shots of the band performing, along with a wild ride of oddness. We see a guy and girl in psychedelic super hero costumes along with a a barrage of peculiar image bursts. It's really quite interesting and so fitting for this band.
