Alabama Homecoming Weekend has arrived! We celebrate by singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' with this B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight, driven by Townsend Honda.

A couple of annual traditions are scheduled once again. We have the pep rally and bonfire tonight at 6pm on the Quad. Tomorrow morning 10:30, the homecoming parade. The parade route is downtown to the UA campus along University Boulevard. As someone who has driven in the parade, it's a pretty cool sight to look out on a sea Crimson.

In 2008, Kid Rock released the catchy song 'All Summer Long.' A reflective tune about the summer days being young and carefree. The music is a mashup of Waren Zevon's 'Werewolves of London' and Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama.' Lyrics in the chorus rejoice, 'singing Sweet Home Alabama!'

I came across a YouTube video featuring Kid Rock at an awards show, as he is joined by Lynyrd Skynrd on stage to perform 'All Summer Long' meets 'Sweet Home Alabama.' See it below and Roll Tide!!
