University of Alabama Theatre & Dance is busy taking care of final touches to present Tartuffe by Molière! It will be a show you won't want to miss, and you could go on us!

Tartuffe is Molière’s quintessential comedy about a mother and son, Madame Pernelle and Orgon, blinded by devotion to Tartuffe, a hypocritically pious con-artist. Hilarity ensues when family and friends join forces to expose the imposter and restore Orgon’s house to order.

UA Theatre & Dance comments on what to expect by saying, "this show is a unique opportunity for actors to work on a different type of rhyming verse compared to the better known Shakespearean style according to director and Professor of Acting Seth Panitch. On top of the difficult language, he says actors learn to “balance the needs of honest connection with the demands of constantly rhyming in verse.” This is not the only balancing act incorporated into the show. The concurrence of comedy and tragedy throughout the entire show, will keep audiences engaged and entertained. Set in a dreamlike “grotesque world” the cast and crew have been able to recreate this realistic play in nonrealistic ways."
