The 3rd annual Holidays on the River ice rink will open Monday and run through Sunday, Jan. 4th on the lawn of the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum.

The event had originally been planned to open on Sunday, November 23, but the threat of severe weather and storms caused the city of Tuscaloosa to push the opening back one day.

General skate admission including skate rental, is $12 for ages 2-12 and $15 for ages 13 and up. There will be free admission to the Transportation Museum.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater box office or at the Transportation Museum, online by clicking here or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Additional free events at the Transportation Museum include a sneak peek of the Nutcracker ballet, winter crafts with the Tuscaloosa Public Library, UA Community Music School brass ensemble, Tuscaloosa News sing-along and visits with Santa and carriage rides.
