History in the making here in T-Town and a great story to go with it. Wednesday, Druid City Brewing Company reached a new milestone with the release of their 'Downtown North Porter' in bottles!

Up until now, the only way you could enjoy a pint of your favorite DCBC was from a tap. Tuscaloosa's first craft beer brewery, has also become the first to legally bottle their beer locally. It serves as a new and exciting chapter for a local business with a humble beginning.

Back in 2012, co-owners Bo Hicks and Elliott Roberts followed a dream and love for craft beer by opening their business on 14th Street in Parkview Center. Curiosity at first, as people lined up to enter the tap room to try it. Much like a restaurant, if you're not good, you won't last. These guys know how to make not just good, but great craft beer. I'm not alone with that thought as Druid City's popularity took off! Soon, their beers became available in bars and restaurants around town. I have to say congrats to the guys on the ability to reach this point, bottling beer.

The significance of the moment is captured on the first run of 192 bottles as each label is signed and numbered by Bo himself. The bottles were distributed to ‘Loosa Brews off University Boulevard at 412 20th Avenue, Spirits on McFarland Blvd in Northport and on Rice Mine Road, and Corks & Tops on Paul W. Bryant Drive.

Below is a post from the brewery's Facebook page with a photo of boxes ready for delivery!

If you're wondering, what does this beer taste like? The bottle explains it best, "the Downtown North Porter is full-bodied malt bomb with rich chocolate and vanilla flavors from beginning to end."

Here's a photo I was able to grab with the brewmaster himself, Bo Hicks in front of a sales display at 'Loosa Brews. Smile! Haha. Yeah, look at my goofy grin.
