We are sad to announce that Tuscaloosa City Council Member Burrell Odom passed away today at the age of 62.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox said,

I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of beloved councilman Burrell Odom. He had a kind and gentle soul. He was a genuine representative of District One and a good friend to all. Stephanie joins me in sending prayers to his family and loved ones, and we offer our deepest condolences.

Odom was elected to serve as the District One representative on the Tuscaloosa City Council in 2013.

Born and raised in Mobile, AL, Odom graduated from Murphy High School in 1970. He then furthered his education at Stillman College from 1970 to 1974 and attended Shelton State Community College.
