We're keeping a close eye on the developing hazardous weather around Tuscaloosa, Northport and all of West Alabama this Monday evening.

At this moment, there are thunderstorms and heavy rain pushing through Tuscaloosa County. There is also a squall line back to west triggering Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in East Mississippi. These storms will continue to push to the east and through Tuscaloosa over the next couple of hours. One good sign right now, no tornado warnings are posted across East Mississippi. But, strong straight line winds remain a concern.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham noted the following threat for us tonight:

ALTHOUGH SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL OF CENTRAL
ALABAMA...THE GREATEST THREAT WILL BE WEST OF A LINE FROM SELMA TO
BIRMINGHAM. THE MAIN THREATS WILL BE DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS
OF 60 MPH OR GREATER AND ISOLATED TORNADOES. THERE IS A SLIGHTLY
LOWER THREAT OF LARGE HAIL AND LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.
