The story goes, a rock band's girlfriend was tired of songs about other girls. So, one was made for her and it makes our B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight this week, driven by Townsend Honda.

Blink 182 released their second single 'All the Small Things' during the winter of 2000. It was this California band's second single off their third studio album, Enema of the State. A single which hit # 1 on the rock chart and topped out inside the Top 10 of the pop chart. It remains their most successful song.

"She left me roses on the stairs / Surprises let me know she cares." Lyrics to the song, 'All The Small Things.' A song written by band member Tom Delonge about longtime girlfriend he would marry, Jennifer Jenkins.

Wikipedia quotes Tom Delonge about the song making the album:

The album needed just one song that was really catchy and basic. I remember thinking, 'The label's gonna want a song for the radio – so here's one.' It was obvious from the beginning it would fit that format. Because it was simple it wasn't that much fun to play. But once we put it all together and played it as a band we all looked at each other and said, 'This song's huge!'

Below is the video, which is a hysterical parody to the huge boy bands of the time, Backstreet Boys, N Sync and 98 Degrees.
