The Sabans Cut Ribbon for New Nick’s Kids Playground in Alberta City

Nick and Terry Saban took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday to open up a new Nick's Kids playground.

The new facility is located at the Alberta School of Performing Arts, which is just a few miles from the campus of The University of Alabama.

The Alabama football coach and his wife established the foundation while he was working at Michigan State in 1998. 17 years later, Nick's Kids has donated more than $6 million to non-profit charities.

The Alberta School of Performing Arts opened in January and sits on the site of the former Alberta Elementary School, which was destroyed by the tornado of April 27, 2011.
