Ready for some Shakespeare in the park? You've got a chance to see William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew brought to life by Tuscaloosa's own theatre troupe, The Rude Mechanicals. They're performing the classic Shakespeare play nightly at the Park at Manderson Landing beginning Wednesday--and it's free to attend!

The Rude Mechanicals is a local theatre troupe who've been bringing Shakespeare's works to life with free performances in the park since 2003. Their members are University of Alabama faculty, staff, and former and current students as well as other local actors.

You can catch The Taming of the Shrew at 8 p.m. each night through Saturday, July 2. They'll have music before each show beginning at 7:30 p.m. The play is performed at the lower level of the Park at Manderson Landing, and you'll be able to sit on the grass to watch the show, so bring blankets, chairs, and bug spray.

In the event of rain, the performance will be moved indoors. You'll be able to see The Taming of the Shrew at the Allen Bales Theatre off Stadium Drive on the campus of the University of Alabama. Any changes in venue or schedule will be posted on the play's official Facebook event page HERE.
