We're coming down the final stretch, gathering up the last of the school supplies before classes starts next week!

'It all adds up,' is a catchphrase we often use when collecting school supplies. Every pencil, notebook and backpack donated brings us closer to our goal. This year, the Tuscaloosa Backpack Coalition is striving to have supplies for over 2,000 Tuscaloosa City and County School students!

Thanks so much for the tremendous amount of community support! This includes the 'Apple Tree' at University Mall. Also, this past Saturday's 'Pack the Bus' at Chick-fil-A Northport! The bus collection event drew excitement with the challenge of Tuscaloosa City vs. County Schools. It was close, as County Schools collected more supplies on the bus.

Pam Rogers from Tuscaloosa Backpack Coalition commented on the day:

Congratulations to Rock Quarry Elementary for winning a free meal for the teachers and staff. Some nice person donated supplies and nominated you as their favorite school! Congratulations to the teachers and staff at RQE! THANK YOU to all who donated & came out to help. We didn't fill up the bus but got some much needed supplies! "IT ALL ADDS UP"!

A few photos are below. The last one features me (tall guy in the white shirt) by the van with a group of awesome volunteers.
