Yesterday, while cutting the grass in the back of my yard, I came across something that made me jump back. At first, I thought it was real and alive!

What was it? Here's my song for a hint (set to the tune of Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made For Walkin'): These boots are made for walking, that's just what they'll do. But, one of these days you'll walk up on something that says hiss! Then, you'll be happy you're not bare foot. The end. Any ideas?

Try, a giant snake skin! It nearly made me jump out my own skin, as I approached it doing yard work. Once I realized it was a skin and not a real snake, I became slightly more at ease. But, I was still freaked out looking at the length of the skin. Somewhere lurking around the yard is one looooong snake. The thing is, I can't tell from the skin what type of snake it is. Whether or not it is venomous or not.

See how that skin goes on and on. C'mon, that's ridiculous! This is where I live. It appears the snake is bit fat towards the top, as if the guy had dinner around the shedding time.

Here's another view. (note to self: I'll be so happy when I get a new phone with a camera lens that isn't cloudy.)

Here's a closeup near the snake's head.

I welcome comments below on any ideas of the type of snake, or better yet, how to rid my yard of them.
