Shawn Mendes Talks Rapid Rise from Vine Star to #1 Album [VIDEO]

What started out as a barrage of 6-second song covers on Vine, has lead to his own #1 album! Jenna of B101.7's Kidd Kraddick Morning Show talks with the 16 year-old Canadian about his rise in fame and his life as a teenager.

It really is an amazing story, to think it started with creating Vines. The popular mobile app with a quick limit of 6 seconds per video. You can't do that much in 6 seconds, or can you?

Shawn is quoted by the New York Times as saying, “I would argue that it does, because you only have six seconds to impress somebody,” he said. “And if you can do that in six seconds, then you’ve done a good job.”

Shawn Mendes tells our own Jenna of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show on creating music, "it's very new to me still." He says on his first Vine that he had only been playing guitar for a few months.
