Showers and thunderstorms are possible across much of West Alabama this afternoon and into the evening hours, and the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Birmingham suggests that a few of those storms could be severe.

The National Weather Service has placed most of our listening area under a limited threat area; storms that develop in this area (see the above forecast graph) have the potential to bring isolated damaging wind gusts of up to 60 MPH. Winds this high could knock down trees and power lines.
