I stumbled upon this song the other day and instantly had an "oh wow" reaction. This #1 slow jam with a killer sample from an 80s tune is a long forgotten gem.

In the spotlight for this B101.7 Flashback Friday is 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss' from P.M. Dawn. The #1 hit from 1991 hip hop duo, brothers Attrell Cordes (known as Prince Be) and Jarrett Cordes (known as DJ Minutemix). Their first and only number one hit which samples the Spandau Ballet song the 80s, 'True.' Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet even makes a cameo appearance in the music video for 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss.'

P.M. Dawn would go on to score hits with 1992's 'I'd Die Without You' and 1993's 'Looking Through Patient Eyes.'

Check out Spandau Ballet's 'True.' You'll notice the signature beat used in 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss.'
