Each year, WTUG is inundated with phone calls, asking how they can receive assistance in obtaining toys for their children. The Salvation Army has announced it is accepting applications for assistance at its local office on University Blvd. The guidelines for applications are as follows:

The Salvation Army of Tuscaloosa will be accepting applications for Christmas Assistance on the following dates:
September 22-26, 2014
Monday through Friday 9:00am-12:00pm
Also on Tuesday September 23 from 5:00pm-7:00pm

The following items will be needed in order to apply:
Picture I.D. for ALL adults in the household
Social Security Cards or Tax ID Number for ALL members of household
Or PROOF that you have applied for Social Security Cards or Tax ID Number
Verifications of ALL Income in the household
(If you have no income, please bring a letter from someone offering financial support)
Birth Certificates for children 10 and under/Proof of Guardianship (No Foot Print Cards will be accepted)
Food Stamp Print Out
Proof of Residence (Lease/Rental agreement, Deed, Mortgage, section 8)
(If you live with someone, you must bring a verification letter from that person along with their income, picture ID, and Social Security card)
You must have all of the above information in order to apply.  You will not be allowed to hold your place in line.
Senior 60 & Older- All items required except for Birth Certificates
