We were blessed to have another wonderful Easter surrounded by the people we love most. Dolly, my daughter, was finally old enough to get into the Egg Hunting Game; I have to share her ridiculous methods with y'all!

We had a huge egg hunt at my Mom's in Northeast Alabama Saturday, so Dolly and I "practiced" Friday. I placed plastic eggs on the floor of her nursery, and she'd pick them up one by one, dropping them into a reusable Dollar General shopping bag. CLASSY. (She does, for the record, have a fancypants basket which she hates.) Anyway, Dolly would collect all the eggs in her bag and then immediately place the bag over her head, pouring all the eggs put and erupting in fits of laughter.

She'd keep the bag over her head and run around the nursery as she giggled. I was convinced she was going to run into the wall and bust her nose, but she didn't. She's smarter than that. I suppose I should feel guilty about letting my kid run around with a bag on her head, but a) it's not like it was a plastic bag--I'm no Betty Draper--and b) she seemed to be having so much fun. Just watch.

What a goober. She scored lots of chocolate from grandparents and the Easter Bunny which I am rationing like all get out--there are very few things in life more trying than a sugar-induced temper tantrum; I'm avoiding those meltdowns at all cost.

I didn't get to see all of my family for the holiday this year, which was a major bummer. Easter has always been a very important holiday to my family, so being apart from them always hurts. I suppose there's always next year... until then, it's time to hit up the drug and grocery stores for discount candy: HAPPY EASTER TO ME.
