Beginning this week, B101.7 is teaming up with the Humane Society of West Alabama to feature a local cat or dog available for adoption. It is our hope that we help connect these animals with loving homes.

How fitting, our first featured pet is a talkative one. Introducing Kid. This handsome silver guy is an adult male Silver Tabby. He's approximately 3-5 years old. Take a look at those chartreuse eyes!

I'm hearing, Kid was a little cautious at first, but he got the hang of the adoption center pretty fast. He only slightly socializes with other cats, but he absolutely loves receiving attention from people! He's very vocal, and doesn't mind speaking his mind about something: when the food bowl is empty, when someone's at the door, or when he looks out the window and sees a bird! He's a talker! Kid is pretty low-energy and calm around people, and he would warm up even more in a home environment. He could do very well with another cat or two, it's questionable when it comes to being around a dog. If you have a dog, you may want a trial adoption.

Kid is negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and neutered. Kid is hoping to find a person he can bond with!

If you'd like to meet Kid, the Humane Society Adoption Center and Cat Care Center in Northport is open 10am-2pm on Saturday, and other times by appointment. The Adoption Center is located at 2430 36th St. in Northport. (Look for the red brick building behind Sherwin Williams, just west of Northwood Shopping Center and Publix. Please do not park directly in front of the Center, as it blocks access to other businesses.)
