B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight time! Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend, and that's my starting point on selecting a spotlight song for the week.

Scrolling through the massive B101.7 music database, I looked for a song to play into the days getting longer and with spring on the way. After the weather we've had around here for the past several weeks, I think we are all more excited than usual for the return of longer days. Now, if I could just find a song.

Wait, how about this? 'Jumper' by Third Eye Blind. Just listen to the lyrics, 'put the past away.' There is a message of hope for those down on their luck. Hey, spring, the new season, a new life as everything comes back to bloom. A reset to life. Let's go with it! Besides, it gives me a chance to bring back a great alternative rock song from the 1990s!

I do find it a bit of a coincidence that a song about bouncing back in life would stall out at #2 on the Billboard Top 40 chart in 1998. Yeah, it never did quite reach the top spot. Not to be Debbie Downer or anything. Just saying. Regardless, it's still an awesome song! Let's watch the video below.
