This B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama is a striking dog named Gypsy! She's a 1- to 2-year old female Dalmatian/Terrier mix, featuring a smooth white coat with black spots. Gypsy is shorter and a little bulkier than a Dalmatian, so it is believed some terrier may be in her.

Gypsy is a medium size, weighing 33 pounds full-grown. Gypsy was pulled from our local animal shelter, where she had been picked up by Animal Control and no one came to claim her. She had been at the shelter for almost a month and a half, so it was time to get her out! Gypsy is just a wonderful dog: very sweet, social, fun-loving and she has a good temperament. She does have some energy, but she calms down very nicely.

She would make a great walking/hiking/running companion! Gypsy loves to run and play, so a fenced in yard will be required. She loves to play with other dogs and should be fine with children ages 8 and up. The shelter staff has started her crate training.

Gypsy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Gypsy is ready for her new forever home, and we hope it will be yours!

If you are interested in giving Gypsey the forever home he wants and deserves, visit HumaneSocietyOfWA.org or call 205-554-0011.
