Tuscaloosa's Insane Inflatable 5K lived up to the name for being insane, and a ton of fun! See what happened during my 12:30pm wave group.

There was so much concern going into the weekend that not just rain, not just thunderstorms, but severe thunderstorms would stop the fun. So thankful, the forecast changed and all was a go! Now, there was heavy rain during the early morning hours which made the course very muddy. Hey, all the better, right? A free bonus, bouncing meets mud run.

Let me give a shout out to my 12:30pm wave group! Leading up to our start time, I was dared by the run's emcee to wear a tutu, as he pointed to a group of ladies who just finished. What happened? One of the girls walked over to give me her tutu to wear. Being a good sport, I put it on. So, here I am on the guest mic wearing a tutu and squeezing tongs. Let me explain, I was told the tongs were being made available to anyone suffering severe wedgies from the giant slides. There I was walking around in a tutu offering to help my race mates, if necessary. Too funny.

Once we got started, I ran with my phone to snap a picture of each obstacle and then shoot video attempting to conquer that obstacle. I found out really fast, some of these inflatables were really tough to push through with one hand, as I slipped and fell a few times. Okay, some of those falls came from getting a little too excited bouncing around.

Here, take a look at my recap video of my experience running Tuscaloosa's Insane Inflatable 5K!
