Alabama football will take center stage on the opening weekend of season with ESPN's College Gameday announcing that the show will begin the year in Arlington, Texas for the Crimson Tide's game against the Wisconsin Badgers.

The ESPN college football pregame show revealed its choice for opening the 23rd year of on-site broadcasts via Twitter on Monday.

The iconic show likely narrowed it down to Alabama-Wisconsin and Texas-Notre Dame, which are the two highest-profile matchups on that opening Saturday. Although the latter holds more historical value, the former will likely mean much more for the College Football Playoff picture come December.

College Gameday will debut an all-new look this year with Alabama alum Rece Davis taking over hosting duties from Chris Fowler, who has been at the desk since day one.

While that show will get started early Saturday morning, the SEC-Big Ten showdown inside AT&T Stadium won't kick until 7 PM/CT. The game will be televised nationally by ABC.
