Apple announced it plans to expand their Reuse and Recycle buy-back program in include handsets with broken screens. The company's current program allows customers to sell old iPhones back to their cellular provider for in-store credit toward the purchase of an upgraded handset. Customers were limited to phones with little or no damage, but the program will broaden to include operational phones with cracked screens or broken buttons.

For customers with completely broken devices, Apple will assist customers with proper disposal. 'Even if your equipment isn't functional or doesn't have any value, you can recycle your iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, PC or smartphone responsibly through Apple for free,' according to the company's website.
