One of Tuscaloosa's best kept restaurant secrets, Anthony's Italian Kitchen has added seafood dishes to their menu, complete with an Italian twist!

These guys have already built a reputation of rave reviews for their pizza and pasta entrees. Along with subs, calzones, and strombolis which are nothing short of great. Let me tell you, if you're new to Anthony's, try the pizza fries as an appetizer and thank me later. Just be sure to have plenty of their signature dipping sauce, which by the way is the perfect compliment to their cheese bread too!

Another reason to really like this place, besides feeling like family when you visit, they're such caring people that a big portion of their profits goes to Anthony's mission work.

On my latest visit, the friendly crew treated our table from the radio station to a sampler.

  • Mussels
  • Seafood Stew (with Atlantic Cod, scallops, and shrimp)
  • Shrimp Scampi

Everything was cooked perfectly, the tender mussels, the savory sauce of the shrimp scampi and the hearty seafood stew. I will say, the stew was my favorite and won me over in a big way. I'm a fan of a good stew, and this recipe is superb.

Let me put my words to life, and give you a look at these dishes at Anthony's Italian Kitchen on McFarland Boulevard (just north of the river). Since I bragged on the pizza fries, let me include a photo of that as well. Oh, and their manicotti. Mama mia, it's good!
