5 Family Fun Christmas Attractions Making a List of Holiday Things to Do
The Christmas season has arrived in Tuscaloosa with lots of fun things to do! We're compiling a list of attractions, and the list below is mainly centered around holiday lights.
Tuscaloosa Tinsel Trail (Open nightly and runs through Jan. 3)
The trail returns with Tuscaloosa's One Place, as even more sponsors have decorated trees along the Black Warrior River. This includes us! Yes, see our 'Busy Bee Christams' themed tree near the trail's start by the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway.
New this year, a second trail area near the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, which is the site for this year's Holidays on the River ice skating!

Holidays on the River (Opens Dec. 1 and runs through Jan. 18)
Ice skating returns to Tuscaloosa Tuesday night, December 1st. The beautifully decorated 60 ’X 100’ outdoor rink will feature holiday characters and hourly snow flurries.

Christmas at the Park - Fayette (Open nightly and runs through Dec. 31)
A mile long drive through tour of holiday lights and displays. The exhibit is underway nightly between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. at Guthrie Smith Park in Fayette. Train rides available on the weekend beginning December 4th.
Cost: $1 per car

Oak Mountain Festival of Lights (Open nightly and runs through Jan. 3)
Oak Mountain State Park offers a one-mile ride of Christmas lights through the park. Organizers call it Alabama's "largest display of holiday and Christmas attractions."
Open nightly at 5 p.m.
Cost: $25 at the gate ($20 tickets at participating Piggly Wiggly locations, listed HERE).
